Pre-Columbian Ceramics and Pottery Reproductions
Across the Puddle is a wholesale distributor of ceramics elaborated by Hombres de Barro, a company that specializes on the reproduction of Pre-Hispanic ceramic art. Hombre de Barro was born out of the restlessness of the Colombian archaeologist Amparo Adames. She dedicated more than fifteen years to researching archaeological ceramic collections belonging to private collectors and various museums in Colombia. She proposed herself to revive this art that has always been admired through showcases at museums and taken it to form part of our everyday life, recovering exotic forms and unknown motifs created for more than four thousands years by wise potters.
The pieces that today make up an extensive collection, faithfully reproduced from its originals continue to be elaborated with the techniques used by the old potters, with precision and mastery, and with the same clays and mineral slugs collected from the natural veins that surround the territory they inhabited, to preserve in each of them the imprint that time left after having been torn from its sacred habitat.
Faces, customs, usages and symbols that are stories, is what we can share today through contact with the magical objects used by men, women and children who were portrayed forever in clay figurines that perpetuate those wonderful people. These exotic objects rescued from the past, occupy today a place of honor as protagonists in the decoration of diverse environments integrating with spectacular effects to all the spaces.
